- הַרְוָוחָה, הַרְוָחָהf. (b. h. הָרְוָחָה; רָוַח) 1) relief, release. Ex. R. s. 10, end; Tanḥ. ed. Bub., Vaëra 22; Yalk. Ex. 186 (cmp. הֶמְסֵס as to fusion of article). Tanḥ, Mikk. 10, v. בָּסַר I; a. e. 2) plenty, liberal provision; comfort. Snh.21b לא צריכא לה׳ the word לֹו is to intimate a liberal appropriation (for the army). Sifré Deut. 306 ואין לשון פתיחה אלא לשוןה׳ the word ‘opening has the meaning of comfort, opp. לשון דוחק. Keth.43a אלמנתו לא ניחא ליה בה׳וכ׳ as to his widow he cares not for her living comfortably (from her own earnings besides the legal alimentation)
